"On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were soon escorted to our cosy comfortable room.
On the first night we ate in the tapas bar which is housed in the bar of this former public house. Simply divine and generous portions. We subsequently dined in the Milan restaurant located opposite the hotel and run by the same family. Again, a great welcome, in this case by the owner's husband who shepherded us to the best available table which was kind considering there was a large party enjoying a 70th birthday. A fantastic selection on the menu and both tasty and value for money. On our final night we enjoyed a drink in the pub opposite No 1 and had a good chat with the locals. Funnily enough this pub is run by another generation of the same family. Well they know how to run hospitality enterprises. I cannot fault this hotel when taking everything into consideration. Oh....I almost forgot..... The BEST English breakfast I've ever had at any hotel and I've stayed in a few."
